The Gift was a gift to watch. Just when you think you know what is inside of this plot and where its going, it surprises you with another twist, and another, and another. Written, Directed, and staring in this movie, Joel Edgerton delivers a powerful and suspenseful thriller. He is accompanied alongside Jason Bateman who I personally am more of a fan of his comedies, surprises me with a great dramatic performance as the man with the mysterious past. Without giving too much away, The Gift is a slow building psychological thriller that keeps you wondering what will happen next. There are some beautiful camera angles and shots in this film that not only are artsy and pleasing to the eye, but also help to build the intensity of the film. Like I said, this movie will keep you guessing and throwing plot twists at you. Just when you think The Gift is throwing one thriller/horror cliche at you, it will twist into something new and thrilling.
