Star Wars: The Force Awakens

"I used to wonder that myself. Thought it was a bunch of mumbo-jumbo-magical power holding together good, evil, the dark side and the light. Crazy thing is, it's true. The Force, the Jedi, all of it. It's all true."

Filmology Rating: 3.5 out of 4

The movie we have all been waiting for is finally here! The Force Awakens is one incredible movie..... It takes everything you want from the other Star Wars movies and combines them all into this one film. This is the film the franchise needed. It takes everything from the original movies such as the brilliant writing, plot, acting, directing, humor, and great characters, and combines it with the modern special effects and the action of the newest three films, and smashes it all together to make for an awesome 2 hr experience. Even if you haven't seen the other movies, even if you aren't a Star Wars fan, you can still enjoy this movie for what it is, a really well put together action/comedy/SyFy movie. One thing that I really thought was great was the fact that this movie had a very simple plot. The Rebellion has found a map that will lead to the whereabouts of Luke Skywalker who has gone into hiding. The Rebellion obviously needs this map and so does the the old Empire which is now called the First Order. Very simple plot that branches off into all these fun adventures and sub plotsl. The villain in this movie is Kylo Ren who was both intimidating and also very intriguing. You are both fascinated with him and also can understand his motivation which gives this character depth. This movie will bring all the emotions and sense of nostalgia back. The old characters that we loved mixed with a great set of new characters into the series. These old and new characters mix with an excellent chemistry that makes you think they have known each other all along. They come together to bring humor and also very emotional moments to the audience. Giving credit to the acting and the plot, the writing and directing for this movie were spot on. The dialogue had depth and emotion and helped the audience truly connect with the characters and the emotions they wanted you to feel. I could rant on and on about how this movie was amazing and could be in fact..... the best movie in the Star Wars franchise. Don't believe me? Then go see for yourself.
