The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2

“Anybody can kill anybody, Katniss. Even a president. You just have to be willing to sacrifice yourself.”

The finale that everyone has been waiting for is finally here. I wish I could say they saved the best for last but that isn't the case here. While this is not a bad movie at all, it just doesn't have the same fire that it had in the first film. Must have lost it somewhere along the movie Catching Fire and part one of Mockingjay. Kind of ironic.... Anyway, this is a very dark and ominous film that will almost suffocate the "happy" ending. I feel like this isn't really the movies fault though. There were only 3 books for a reason! This movie abruptly starts and after that moment, stinks of the movie dragging on to fill a two hour movie. The Mockingjay movies would have been so much better if they concluded it all in one 3 hr movie and then cut out a lot of the useless dialogue that prolonged this movie. After saying that, the special effects and the action scenes in this movie are up to the Hunger Games standard. They are intense and will grab and hold your attention and will make you forget about the long dialogue scenes that just happened. Jennifer Lawrence gives one the strongest performance since the first movie. The middle two she was just alright but this movie relied heavily on her to keep the film moving with the dialogue. Close ups and raw emotional scenes make you feel what she is feeling so in that sense, they did an excellent job. This wraps up what has been an overall huge blockbuster success and also an enjoyable movie series to watch.
