“The Great Wall” tells the story of specialized army that makes a stand for humanity on one of the world’s most iconic structures, the Great Wall of China.

“The Great Wall” (not to be mistaken with the one Trump is trying to build…. :/ ) was a movie that I was very intrigued with when I saw the trailer a few months ago. I really didn’t know what to expect going into this movie. This review is going to be relatively short because I really could rip into this movie but I’m not ...going to. The truth is this movie is actually really terrible but it was a terrible that I had a fun time with. This was an enjoyable one time see but one that I will never have the desire to ever watch again.

Just to get it out of the way, this movie struggled in quite a few categories, even simple things like just showing genuine emotion or having real dialogue instead of forced interactions. I really could do a whole rant about the wasted potential about this movie but I’d rather not. The truth of the matter was that even though this movie had a lot of flaws, I still was curious what would happen.

The action was just good enough to not bore you, the story was juuust intriguing enough to keep you guessing, and the special effects, color schemes, and set design was juuuuuust enough to keep me entertained. That’s really all this movie did; it entertained me.

I didn’t leave the theater wanting my 5 bucks back and I didn’t really feel moved in any way. “The Great Wall” is a good one time watch but then easily forgettable. I would honestly wait to rent it.
