London Has Fallen, sequel to the 2013 “Olympus Has Fallen”, brings forth another action movie that is just that…. action. While I wouldn’t say that this is a flat out bad movie, it just doesn’t bring anything else to the table other than ok action sequences and Gerald Butler being an over the top badass. The story starts in London after the British Prime Minister has just passed away under mysterious circumstances. His funeral brings together leaders from all over the western world. However, what was thought to be the most protected event on Earth, soon turns out to be a deadly plot by terrorists to kill the world’s most powerful leaders all at once. Everything about this movie was bigger; a bigger setting, a bigger group of terrorists, bigger explosions, and more people for the seemingly invincible Butler to kill. I do have to say that the most enjoyable thing about this movie and its prequel, is the relationship between the president and his head of security (Aaron Eckhart and Gerard Butler). They have a pretty good chemistry that makes you root for them to get out alive. Other than that relationship and some ok action, that's all this London Has Fallen has to offer. This movie wasn’t as good as the first one. The action was alright but honestly wasn’t that well done if looking more closely. There were a lot of green screen shots, obvious CGI, and sometimes poor action shots. Overall, too much negatives to outweigh the positives. Unless you were a fan of the first movie, I'd say skip it. Don’t go into this movie expecting anything more than a mindless action movie because that’s all London Has Fallen is.
