Deadpool is finally here and man does it live up to the hype! This was everything that I was hoping for it to be and more. Deadpool had exciting and brilliantly shot action sequences, excellent writing, hilarious jokes, and man oh man was Ryan Reynolds fantastic as Deadpool. Ryan was made to portray this character! He is so spot on with the mannerisms and body language, the rude crude and cocky behavior that follow, and he is absolutely hilarious! This movie will have you bursting out in laughter for the entire movie. Even the opening credits set the tone for how funny this movie is. One thing that was great to see is that this movie was not afraid to speak its mind. This movie doesn’t pull any punches with its jokes, shots at other franchises, and even makes fun of Ryan Reynolds being the Green Lantern and the previous “Deadpool” character he played. There is never a dull moment in this film and that is because of the brilliant writing and directing. I was extremely pleased with the directorial debut of Tim Miller. I thought that he did a great job of bringing out the best of this movie. A fresh new way to show the action scenes that were tailored to how Deadpool would fight, adding CGI with necessary, and the constant forth wall breaking and addressing the audience was very well done. Then the writing of Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick (Zombieland) was brilliant. They wrote a great script that allowed Ryan to do his own thing and really own the character and make it his own. The plot for this movie was very simple and yet right to the point. Wade Wilson/Deadpool is diagnosed with cancer and gets recruited by a private company that says they can heal him and can also give him superpowers in the process. When things go south and don't turn out the way as promised, it’s just a good old fashion revenge plot. Now some say that such simple plot might be a flaw with the film but I don't see it that way at all. It was right to the point and it did exactly what it was supposed to. I'm glad they didn’t try and overdo things and try and do too much with the first movie. I'm sure that after the success of this first movie that there will be many more to come and I can’t wait! Apart from a few little details here and there, this is a near perfect movie for what it is! This was a fantastic movie that I would highly recommend for people to see. Now keep in mind that this is NOT a family friendly movie. Do NOT take kids to see this movie. Be prepared for a lot of well shot graphic violence and a ton of rude, crude, and hilarious lines from Deadpool. Go out and enjoy it!
